Ofsted Report

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted reports directly to Parliament and is independent and impartial. They inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

In January 2019 a team of Ofsted inspectors judged Castle Donington College to be a Good School.

Some of the key findings from the Ofsted report highlighting our schools success include:

  • Relationships between staff and pupils are extremely positive. Teachers care about their pupils and want them to do well. Pupils feel well supported, which contributes to them making good progress.

  • Staff take prompt action when they are concerned about a pupil’s safety or well-being. They monitor pupils closely to ensure that their needs are met.

  • Pupils approach school life with a sense of purpose. They are punctual in the mornings and move promptly to lessons after break and lunchtime. They respond to staff requests and instructions quickly and willingly.

  • Leaders promote pupils’ personal development and well-being in all aspects of school life. Pupils are well cared for and benefit from strong pastoral support and guidance.
