Careers Education at Castle Donington College

At Castle Donington College, our vision for Careers Education is to raise aspirations, equip pupils with the skills and knowledge to achieve their full potential, and provide meaningful opportunities to explore a wide range of career pathways.

We are committed to ensuring all pupils receive high-quality, impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) so they are fully prepared for their next steps in education, training, or employment.

Our aim is to improve the life chances of all young people by providing a nurturing, safe and supportive environment alongside a personalised approach to careers learning.

How Our Careers Programme is Delivered

Our CEIAG programme is delivered through:

  • The curriculum, particularly PSHE
  • Tutor time activities and assemblies
  • Employer engagement activities and workplace encounters
  • Careers events and visits
  • One-to-one careers guidance interviews with a careers adviser
  • External provider engagement (colleges, universities, apprenticeships, training providers)

We work to ensure pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for life beyond school, including employability, communication, resilience, and enterprise skills.
